I am a lecturer at the Centre for International Education at the University of Sussex in the UK and a research associate at the Centre for International Teacher Education at Cape Peninsula University of Technology in South Africa.
My research interests are in intellectual history and social policy. I completed my PhD at Rhodes University in South Africa, which focused on how pan-African knowledge commons emerge and endure. My current work aims to deepen this line of investigation, as well as exploring the research-policy nexus in education, particularly in terms of social experimentation.
I serve as a co-editor for the Journal of Contemporary African Studies.
Besides South Africa, I have lived and worked in Delhi, Vienna, Oxford, Thimpu and Dakar.
