Together with Kwame Akyeampong, I currently convene a module on Policies and Practice in International Education for the Masters in International Education and Development at the University of Sussex. I also convene an undergraduate module on International Education and Development.
Before moving to Sussex, I convened a postgraduate module on The Politics of Social Policy in Africa at Rhodes University with Robert van Niekerk. And in 2017, I designed the module on African Studies and Education for the Masters in Education and International Development at the University College of London.
Prior to this, I was a lecturer in philosophy at the University of Fort Hare. I have also worked as a tutor in philosophy at Rhodes University, and taught critical thinking and English in high schools in the Eastern Cape.
My teaching is informed by the view that any understanding of a society must be grounded in its intellectual milieu and a historicised appreciation of its current predicaments.
